Early retirement
This page explains what Legea nr. 156/1998 does, and does not, state about early retirement at a reduced age, and what that means for qualifying for the ordinary pension.
No age-reduced early retirement, in the articles reviewed
We found no route, in the articles reviewed of Legea nr. 156/1998, to an early pension at a reduced age with an associated reduction. The law does provide a separate early pension conditioned solely on insured service — with no age reduction — a different mechanism that this page does not cover.
What this means for you
If you meet the standard age (63 years for men, 62 years for women, the current figure) and the full service requirement (34 years for men, 34 years for women), you can claim the ordinary old-age pension — see the pension age page.
