About the project
salariulnet is a net-salary calculator for the Republic of Moldova, aimed at anyone working on a standard employment contract. The figures shown are taken from named primary sources, and every value carries its citation.

What this calculator does
This is a gross-to-net salary calculator for the Republic of Moldova, aimed at anyone working on a standard employment contract. Enter a monthly gross and it works out the two employee deductions — the 9 % AOAM health-insurance premium and 12 % income tax on the base after AOAM and the personal allowance — and shows the take-home net alongside what the same salary costs the employer once the CAS/BASS contribution is added. It covers the ordinary case: a resident employee, one full-time job, the personal allowance and, where they apply, the spouse and dependant allowances.
How the figures are sourced
The calculation follows the tax year 2026, in force from 1 January 2026. Every rate and amount is drawn from Moldovan primary sources rather than transcribed from other calculators:
- Income tax and allowances — the Tax Code (Codul Fiscal al RM nr. 1163/1997) — the flat rate (art. 15) and the personal, spouse and dependant allowances with their annual income cap (art. 33–35).
- Contributions — the health-premium law (Legea 1593/2002) for AOAM, and the social-insurance framework (Legea 489/1999) plus the annual state social budget for the employer CAS/BASS rates.
- Minimum wage — the government decision setting the national minimum (HG 771/2025).
- Context statistics — the National Bureau of Statistics (BNS) for the average gross wage — used only for context, never as a calculation input.
Primary-source discipline
The project’s rule is that a number is either quoted from a primary source or recomputed from other sourced numbers — never guessed and never copied from a secondary calculator. During research this caught two figures that circulate in stale form elsewhere (the spouse and dependant amounts), which were re-verified against the Tax Code before being used. The point of the discipline is that the build refuses to ship a value that is not traceable.
Why the figures carry no sign-off
That is a deliberate honesty, not a disclaimer of convenience. A net-pay figure is the kind of number people act on, so we would rather say plainly what is missing — the reviewer’s signature — than imply a precision we have not verified. The FAQ answers the most common questions, and the contact page explains how to get in touch.
The full content for this page is still in preparation. The calculator’s result is an estimate and is not an official document.
